My sister Elaine and I went for a lovely long walk down The Forks river trail. Next time I plan to go back with skates, but for this time, it was nice to walk. We didn’t make it down the Assiniboine River leg, but we did do most of the Red River leg, stopping along the way to check out the warming huts. It was so sunny and beautiful out today — a little windy at times, but nothing we couldn’t deal with. I’m so thankful to have this yearly skating and walking path created in our city.
This morning I woke up with the urge to spend hours enjoying the outdoors. Although it’s technically spring in Winnipeg, the weather has been alternating between parka cold and spring puddles, sometimes in the space of an afternoon. Today though, it looked to be a relatively nice day. So I decided to go for a walk… a really long walk, maybe even an epic walk (at least for me). For the Winnipeger’s reading this, I decided to walk from The Forks to Charleswood.
