This week turned out to be a pretty interesting one. Monday I worked a 15 hour day and came home exhausted. Luckily, I had Tuesday to Thursday off, so I was able to recover, and the days also had more variety than usual. Thursday was my best holiday day by far… lots of rejuvenating time to myself. Had a lovely meal at a Thai restaurant (with a good book and myself for company), did a little grocery shopping and am happy to report our fridge is stocked with veggies and fruit again, and then went for a walk in Assiniboine Park with Kato during golden hour. Came home with a few photos that I’m really pleased with (scroll down to the bottom of this post). Friday I was at work again so being me, I did a little sketching during a meeting. Then Friday night I had an organizational geek-out and designed my own notepad. Saturday we went to see one of my favourite bands, The Fugitives. Today I’m craving hours of outdoor time so am planning on an epic walk with my camera and a few friends along the way. Yes, all in all, a good week.
Sometimes having a camera in your hand can stop you from fully experiencing where you are in that moment. You can be so occupied with capturing it, that you essentially distance yourself. Other times, seeing the world through your viewfinder makes you experience it all the more, allowing you to capture glimpses of perfection, to bask in the light and to feel so very thankful that you have the senses to soak it in. My Thursday walk was one of those… and here are my three favourite photos.
